The Shannon Regional Board is responsible for the management, protection, development and improvement of inland fisheries in County Clare. At the request of the board my Department is at present carrying out fisheries engineering surveys of the Doonbeg and Annageeragh catchments with a view to advising the board on an overall programme of improvements works for the two catchments. It is hoped that the improvements works will commence in the first half of 1986.
