Vol. 363 No. 12

Written Answers. - Expenditure on Foreign Travel.

54.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the number of trips undertaken by him and his staff in 1985; the destination, purpose and cost of each trip; and if he can estimate the cost of official trips in 1986.

The compilation of detailed information on the lines requested by the Deputy would entail a disproportionate amount of staff time and money which I consider could not be justified. During 1985 the Department of Fisheries and Forestry spent £38,630 in foreign travel in connection with their EC functions and £47,200 on other non-EC foreign travel. The allocations for EC and non-EC foreign travel for 1986 are £46,900 and £56,000 respectively.

asked the Minister for the Gaeltacht the number of foreign trips undertaken by him, his Minister of State and his staff in 1985; the destination, purpose and cost of each trip; and if he can estimate the cost of official trips in 1986.
