Vol. 363 No. 12

Written Answers. - Importation of Vaccine.

82.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will allow any of the associations representing pigeon owners or any of the chemical companies in Ireland to import and distribute a new vaccine called Pigeon Plus, manufactured by the English firm, (details supplied), as it appears that all pigeon fanciers would vaccinate with this if permitted to do so as it costs very little; and if he will consider this and previous similar representations sympathetically.

The firm in question through its agents in this country has already been informed of the conditions under which the vaccine can be imported and used. My Department are prepared to issue the necessary licence provided the importers comply with these conditions. I understand that a licence under the Therapeutic Substances Act, 1932, is also required from the Minister for Health for the import of vaccines.
