asked the Minister for Labour the income and expenditure of the redundancy fund for the year ended 1985; the amounts outstanding from employers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Total receipts to the redundancy and employers' insolvency fund during 1985 were £23,953,549. Total payments were £28,098,897. The employers' redundancy contributions are collected by the Revenue Commissioners as part of PRSI conon a calendar year basis. The amount of PRSI tributions. The amount of PRSI outstanding by employers is not available on a calendar year basis. The amount of PRSI outstanding from employers as at 31 December 1985 in respect of the years up to, and, including the year ended 5 April 1984 is estimated at £64.9 million, of which the redundancy element would be of the order of £478,000. The figures for the year 1984-85 are not yet available.
