Vol. 363 No. 15

Written Answers. - Salmon Fish Farm.

35.

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry if he has received a request for permission to anchor a large tanker ship at Killary, County Galway, for use as a salmon fish farm; and, if so, if he intends granting permission in this case.

An application in respect of a large tanker ship to be anchored at Killary, County Galway, for use as a salmon fish farm was received by my Department but this application was subsequently withdrawn. Alternative proposals for a similar project in the outer Galway Bay area are currently being examined.
