Vol. 364 No. 2

Written Answers. - Letterkenny (Donegal) Regional Technical College.

93.

asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to a protest by the students in the regional technical college, Letterkenny, who staged a demonstration to protest against the chronic accommodation problems in the college, where it is claimed by the students that there is a lack of proper accommodation in the library, the gymnasium and the canteen; and if he will have all these matters examined to see if an early solution can be found to these problems.

My attention has been drawn to a newspaper report of a protest demonstration by students of Letterkenny Regional Technical College, in relation to student grants and accommodation at the college. A proposal has recently been made to my Department by County Donegal Vocational Education Committee in relation to accommodation at the college. This proposal is at present being examined in my Department, which will respond to the VEC as soon as possible.
