Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

44.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason payment of a home improvement grant has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly in respect of work done and completed in 1985 and passed for payment since that time; and if he will confirm that payment is to be made immediately.

The application related to the 1981 house improvement grants scheme and was received in the Department on 23 July 1984. A grant could not be allowed however because, contrary to a statutory condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection had been carried out.

45.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan.

On receipt of evidence of planning permission in respect of the building of a bathroom and bedroom, which was requested on 15 November 1984, a final inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant.
