Written Answers. - Coal Imports.

15.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the quantity of coal coming into this country from South Africa, he will consider introducing regulations requiring that all coal on sale be identified by country of origin.

Limerick East): As legislation on the lines suggested by the Deputy has in the past been found by the European Court of Justice to be in breach of the Treaty of Rome, I do not propose to introduce an origin-making requirement in respect of coal.

Question No. 16 re-entered for oral reply.
