Vol. 364 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Louth Housing Scheme.

28.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the abnormal delay in relation to sanctioning the building of eight houses at Chord Terrace, Drogheda, County Louth, when sanction will be given so that the work can proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with existing procedures there have been consultations between Drogheda Corporation and my Department's inspectorate on a proposed infill housing scheme, at Chord TerraceNun's Walk. The difficult nature of the site necessitated a number of revisions in lay-out and design and an additional house, bringing the total to eight was also included in the project.

The unit cost in the recommended tender for the scheme now submitted by Drogheda Corporation is under consideration and I hope to be in a position to convey my decision in the matter shortly.
