asked the Minister for Justice the total number of applications made to the Circuit Court in the years from: 1 August 1982 to 31 July 1983; from 1 August 1983 to 31 July 1984; and from 1 August 1984 to 31 July 1985 for: (a) a maintenance order pursuant to the Family Law (Maintenance of Spouses and Children) Act, 1976; (b) a custody order pursuant to the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1964; (c) an order relating to property pursuant to section 12 of the Married Women's Status Act, 1957; (d) an order relating to a family home(s) pursuant to the provisions of the Family Home Protection Act, 1976; and (e) a barring order pursuant to the provisions of the Family Law (Protection of Spouses and Children) Act, 1981.

The relevant information for the legal years ended 31 July 1983 and 31 July 1984 was furnished to the Deputy in reply to Question No. 845 of 23 April, 1985 and by letter dated 25 September 1985. The corresponding statistics in relation to the year ended 31 July 1985 are being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Justice the total number of applications made to the District Court in the years from 1 August 1980 to 31 July 1981; from 1 August 1981 to 31 July 1982; from 1 August 1982 to 31 July 1983; from 1 August 1984 to 31 July 1985 for: (a) a maintenance order pursuant to the Family Law (Maintenance of Spouses and Children) Act, 1976; (b) a barring order pursuant to section 22 of the Family Law (Maintenance of Spouses and Children) Act, 1976 or the Family Law (Protection of Spouses and Children) Act, 1981; and (c) a custody order pursuant to the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1964.

The information sought for the years 1981 to 1984 was furnished to the Deputy in reply to Question No. 490 of 20 June, 1984 and Question No. 848 of 23 April, 1985. Statistics for the year ended 31 July 1985 are being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Justice the total number of applications made to the High Court in each of the years 1976 to 1985, inclusive, for a decree of annullment; the total decrees of annullment granted in each of the said years; the total number of decrees of annullment refused in each of the said years; the total number of decrees of annulment refused by the High Court but granted on appeal by the Supreme Court in each of the said years; the total number of decrees of annullment refused by the Supreme Court having been first granted by the High Court in each of the said years; the total number of cases currently outstanding in the High Court awaiting determination; and the total number of cases on appeal to the Supreme Court currently awaiting a determination.

Much of this information has been supplied in replies to previous questions. The remaining information is being compiled and when it is available I will send it to the Deputy.
