Vol. 365 No. 1

Written Answers. - Refund of Tax.

140.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will request the Revenue Commissioners to issue a refund of tax to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who has been out of work for three months up to 10 March 1986 as it appears he has not received a tax refund for the period in question.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes who has been dealing with the taxpayer's affairs has not received an application for a repayment of tax from the taxpayer. The question of the taxpayer's entitlement to a refund of tax for 1985-86 now falls to be determined by way of a review of his liability for that year. The inspector has written to the taxpayer for the details required to carry out that review.
