asked the Minister for Agriculture the total number of farmers participating in the farm modernisation scheme; and the number for each county categorised as: (a) commercial, (b) development, (c) "other high" and (d) "other low", on 31 December 1985.

The number of farmers admitted to the farm modernisation scheme up to 30 September 1985 (the date on which the scheme was terminated) was 106,211.

The following table lists the number of farmers in each county admitted to the scheme in the development, commercial, other low and other high categories up to 30 September 1985.
