Vol. 365 No. 4

Written Answers. - Maintenance and Treatment of Road Accidents.

12.

asked the Minister for Health the estimated cost to the health boards of maintenance and treatment of road accident victims for the last year for which figures are available.

Following the Supreme Court ruling that the Regulations under which charges in respect of hospital services provided for road traffic accident cases were ultra virus determination of precise costings in respect of individual cases was suspended. It is estimated, however, that the cost to the health boards of maintenance and treatment of road traffic accident victims was of the order of £2 million in 1985.
