Vol. 365 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

74.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a land improvement grant under the western drainage scheme.

The matter of payment of a grant to the person concerned does not arise at this stage, since no approval for the work envisaged has yet issued. The applicant has been given until 14 June next to carry out certain preliminary operations before approval for the drainage work can issue. To date he has not informed the Farm Development Service whether he intends to meet the conditions laid down.

75.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will expedite payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

The person named has been paid his 1985 calf premium grants already. He was deemed ineligible for the 1985 cattle headage scheme as his off-farm income was in excess of £6,400 and for the 1985 suckler cow scheme as his off-farm income was more than 50 per cent of his total income.
