Vol. 365 No. 11

Written Answers. - Career Break Scheme.

86.

asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway was not re-employed by his Department after a year's leave of absence.

The person to whom the Deputy refers was granted a career break from her post as clerical assistant on the staff of my Department for one year from 11 February 1985. Under the terms of the career break scheme, a fillable vacancy must exist before an officer can resume duty. The question of her resumption of duty has been under consideration in the light of the staffing situation and the Department has written to her asking her to resume her position on Monday next.
