Vol. 366 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sale of Local Authority Dwellings.

41.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement regarding the sale of maisonettes to tenants of local authority houses who have been seeking to purchase these for many years, as in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12.

Recent schemes for the sale of local authority dwellings have allowed the sale of maisonettes and flats as well as houses. However, there have been certain practical difficulties which have prevented sales of flats under these schemes. A working party, representative of my Department and local authorities, is at present examining the matter with a view to proposing ways in which these difficulties might be overcome.
