Vol. 366 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

42.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant of £800 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

The grant will be paid when the applicant submits the information requested by my Department on 6 May 1986.

43.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

In the absence of details of the full address of the person named it is not possible to establish the actual position in the case. However, if the Deputy provides the details to my Department the information sought by him will be provided.

44.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Carlow will be notified as to the level of house improvement grant assistance which he will receive.

An inspection is being arranged with a view to determining the amount of grant payable.

45.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he realises that many applicants who had applied for home improvement grants and were told by his Department to go ahead without inspection, are unable to do so until they are quite sure of the amount of grant available and the exact work which qualifies for such grants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not so aware. In a limited number of cases where a dispensation was granted from the prior inspection requirement, inspections have been arranged where subsequently requested.

46.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he can expedite the inspection and payment of house improvement grants in County Kildare.

There are no undue delays in so far as the overall position in County Kildare is concerned. However, if the Deputy has any particular case in mind perhaps he would let my Department have the necessary details.
