The Government announced on 17 October 1985 their decision to proceed with the establishment of a National Lottery and to award the franchise to operate the lottery for an initial period of years to An Post. Since that date no submission has been received by me from Hospitals' Trust (1940) Limited relating to that company's participation in the National Lottery.
