asked the Minister for Agriculture the quantity of cereals and cereal substitutes imported into the EC in 1985; and the quality of these products at present in storage.

The quantities imported were: Cereals: 6.2 million tonnes, Cereal substitutes: 12 million tonnes (provisional).

The quantity of cereals at present in intervention storage is approximately 15 million tonnes. Figures for stocks of cereals and cereal substitutes held by traders are not available.
