Vol. 366 No. 8

Written Answers. - Beef Trade.

171.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give an indication of the trends in the beef trade towards the end of this year.

The state of the beef trade towards the end of the year will depend on many factors not quantifiable in advance. However, recent changes have had the effect of increasing Irish support for beef by about 4 per cent. This should have a correspondingly favourable effect on market prices.
