Vol. 366 No. 8

Written Answers. - Allocation of Estate.

172.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the dates on which letters were received from a hurling club (details supplied) in County Galway regarding the possibility of land being provided to them for a football pitch from a Land Commission owned estate; the reason that none of these communications in writing has as yet been replied to by the Land Commission; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Letters from the club for a playing pitch were received in the local office of the Land Commission on 23 March 1977, 31 May 1978 and 8 September 1984. As the local inspector in charge subsequently met a deputation from the club and discussed the application with them, he did not consider a written reply necessary.

The estate in question has recently been allocated by the Land Commissioners, whose function it is in law.
