Vol. 366 No. 8

Written Answers. - Accounting Procedures.

38.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the procedures used for accounting to the Government, by each State board under his control; and if all of these are in keeping with modern accounting and reporting practices.

Limerick East): The accounts of each State body under my aegis are submited to the Government by me prior to their presentation to each House of the Oireachtas. In each case the accounts are audited either by the Comptroller and Auditor General or a firm of auditors approved by me, and the Minister for Finance. I am satisfied that the procedures are in keeping with modern accounting and reporting practices.
