Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

40.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a water supply grant will be approved in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A water grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, ten years have not elapsed since payment of a new house grant in respect of the house.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a reduced rate of mortgage subsidy was paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The maximum first instalment in a case such as this one was £750 but the amount paid to the person was £505 being the amount of his mortgage repayments for the relevant qualifying period. He received the maximum amount for the remaining five periods.
