The scheme is listed in the 1985 Road Plan for commencement after 1987. The plan will be reviewed before the end of this year, taking account of cost benefit and other relevant studies to determine the priorities of major schemes, including the Carrickmacross relief road, to be undertaken in the post-1987 period.
