Vol. 366 No. 8

Written Answers. - Purchase of Bog.

80.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry if the Government are in a position to give effect to their decision of 19 November 1985 that Clara Bog should be purchased by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the present position in relation to his Department's proposed acquisition of the property.

The most suitable arrangements to give effect to the Government's decision in relation to the transfer of Clara Bog from Bord na Móna to my Department are at present being examined in consultation with the Chief State Solicitor's Office and I am hopeful that any difficulties arising will be quickly resolved.
