asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in an inspection visit for new house grant purposes to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and when the inspection will be carried out.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Cork as the inspector called on 25 March 1986.

Notification of the approval of a grant has issued to the applicant.

As full details of the proposed works were not available at the time of the inspector's visit, a further inspection has to be arranged. This will be carried out shortly and a decision will be communicated to the applicant as early as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A new house grant was paid on 2 September 1983 in this case. However, the applicant's solicitors have indicated that the payable order had not been received and the matter is being investigated.
