Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

48.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on the amount of grant to be allocated to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

Evidence of planning permission was recently received and approval of a grant amounting to £4,871 has been notified to the applicant.

49.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for payment of the final instalment of a mortgage subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The fourth instalment of £400 will be paid within the next few weeks.

50.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the file was sent to the inspector regarding a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will comment on the undue delay in the inspection for these house improvement grants and the undue delay in replies issuing to the applicants after the inspector has called.

This file was referred to the Department's inspector on 23 April 1986 and an inspection will be carried out shortly. Having regard to the exceptional volume of applications under the scheme generally, there are no undue delays in either carrying out inspections or in notifying applicants of the outcome.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Cork whose house was inspected on the 8 April 1986 for a house improvement grant will be notified of the results.

Notification of the approval of a grant has issued to the applicant.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly in respect of a house improvement grant application.

The inspector was unable to gain admittance to the house on a recent visit. The applicant has been asked to notify the Department when the property will be open for inspection and on receipt of this information arrangements will be made to have an inspection carried out.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly in connection with his application for a house improvement grant, as the work is now completed.

A final inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out within the next few weeks.

54.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange an inspection in connection with an application for a house improvement grant by a person (details supplied) in County Offaly so that she will know the amount of grant for which she will qualify.

Arrangements are being made to have an inspection carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the non-payment of a reconstruction grant under the old scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath as this grant was applied for and acknowledged in 1979.

There is no record of the receipt in the Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant is not being paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be approved in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the amount which will be approved.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the amount which will be paid.

This application is among those covered by the dispensation from the prior inspection requirement. Notification was issued to the applicant authorising him to proceed with the work in respect of which his application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when he applied for the grant.

An inspection has since been requested and this will be carried out within the next few weeks.

59.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve a house improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the amount which will be paid.

This application is among those covered by the dispensation from the prior inspection requirement. Notification has issued to the applicant authorising her to proceed with the work in respect of which her application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when she applied for the grant. At the final inspection stage the amount of grant payable will be determined.
