Vol. 367 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin TV Interference.

75.

asked the Minister for Communications if he is aware that an illegal pirate radio station (details supplied) is interfering seriously with the piped TV signal in the Sean McDermot Street area of Dublin 1; if he will take appropriate action to deal with the illegal station; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the interference problem. However, from investigations to date it is not certain that the source of the interference is as suggested by the Deputy.

I have referred the matter to Radio Telefís Éireann who have statutory responsibility for the detection and investigation of interference with television and radio broadcasts and I will write to the Deputy when their investigations are completed.
