asked the Minister for Agriculture the total number of money allocated for the Shannon flood scheme in 1985; the total number of applications received to date: the number of applications sanctioned in 1985 and 1986; the total amount of moneys paid in grants under this scheme up to 31 December 1985, and up to 30 April 1986, the total number of applications received for each county under the scheme in 1985 and in 1986; the total amount of money paid to applications in these counties in 1985 and 1986 to date; and if he will make a statement on this very important matter.

The provision for weather damage relief schemes in 1985 was £3 million. The total number of applications received to date under the Shannon flood scheme was 2,058; the number sanctioned in 1985 and 1986 was 1,674; the total amount paid to 31 December 1985 was £471,072; the total amount paid up to 30 April 1986 was £474,448; the total number of applications received for each county and the total amount paid is as follows:
