asked the Minister for Labour the proposed expenditure in County Kildare under the social employment scheme in the current year; the number of people employed under the scheme; and the location of such employees in each case.

At present, statistics in relation to the social employment scheme are compiled on the basis of National Manpower Service regions. It will not be possible to supply information regarding numbers employed or location of schemes on a county basis until the computerisation of the scheme, which is currently underway, is complete.

In the east region of the NMS which encompasses Counties Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow there are currently 1684 persons employed on 638 projects. In 1986 to date, a total of £2.4 million has been spent in the east region of SES projects.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of social employment schemes in operation in counties Monaghan and Cavan; the location of each scheme; the total amount of moneys allocated; and the total number of individuals employed.

At present information relating to the social employment scheme is complied on the basis of National Manpower Service regions. It will not be possible to supply information relating to numbers employed or location of projects on a county basis until the computerisation of the scheme, which is currently underway, is complete.

In the north-east region of the NMS which encompasses Louth, Cavan and Monaghan there are 134 projects currently operating which provide employment for 808 persons.

In 1986 a total of £1.3 million has been spent to date on SES projects operating in the north-east region of the NMS.
