I propose to take Question Nos. 177 to 179, inclusive, together.

As I indicated to the Deputy in my reply to a question by him on 15 April 1986 my Department had received applications through the liquidator of the company, for payment under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, of awards by the Employment Appeals Tribunal to two of the employees concerned. As, however, the tribunal, in its decision of 14 January 1986 had not broken down the amounts of the awards in respect of the two employees as between the Redundancy Payments Acts, the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act and the Unfair Dismissals Act, which is necessary before any payment can be made from the redundancy and employers' insolvency fund, the two applications received were being referred to the tribunal for clarification of the details of the awards. These references have since been made and I understand that the tribunal will shortly be in touch with the parties to arrange a hearing of the cases.

If the third employee concerned — the person involved in Question No. 179 makes an application to my Department, through the liquidator of the company for payment under the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984, I will have his application also referred to the tribunal for clarification so as to enable payment to be made. I have arranged for my Department to forward the necessary application form to the person concerned.
