Vol. 367 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowances.

98.

asked the Minister for Finance if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford is in receipt of her full tax free allowances; and the reason her income tax has increased so much.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an amended certificate of tax-free allowances granting her all of her husband's tax-free allowance for the current year will be issued to the taxpayer as soon as possible. The delay in issuing the amended certificate is regretted. Any tax overdeducted from her earnings since 6 April 1986 will be refunded to the taxpayer by her employer when the amended certificate is put into operation.
