asked the Minister for Social Welfare the proportions of the Social Insurance Fund contributed by (a) employers, (b) employees and (c) State subvention.

The provisional income of the Social Insurance Fund for 1985 is £1,234 million made up of £589 million (48 per cent) contributed by employers and £284 million (23 per cent) contributed by employees. The payment by the Exchequer to the fund for the year is £359 million (29 per cent) and £2 million of the fund's income is derived from other sources.
