asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of (a) unemployed male workers under 25 years of age, (b) unemployed female workers under 25 years of age, (c) unemployed male workers over 25 years of age and, (d) unemployed female workers over 25 years of age in each of the following Gaeltacht areas: Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Donegal, Cork, Waterford and Meath.

Statistics are not maintained in a manner which would enable the information sought by the Deputy to be given.

On a national basis the position on 30 May 1986, the latest date for which figures are available, was as follows: (a) unemployed male workers under 25 years of age, 44,683; (b) unemployed female workers under 25 years of age, 25,914; (c) unemployed male workers over 25 years of age, 124,761; (d) unemployed female workers over 25 years of age, 34,999.
