Vol. 368 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

50.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the delay in having a final inspection carried out with a view to payment of a grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, as the application has been made for quite some time.

The inspection will be carried out in the next few weeks.

51.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an inspection carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who made an application for a house improvement grant and received automatic approval but wishes to have a full inspection carried out prior to the commencement of work.

An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to reinvestigate the new house grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny with a view to having the full £2,000 new house grant paid.

A £2,000 new house grant is payable in respect of a house built otherwise than by contract only where the house was not substantially completed before 1 May 1985. In this case approval to a £1,000 grant issued to an applicant and the file has been referred to my Department's inspector for final inspection. On receipt of the inspector's report in the matter a final decision will be made as to whether the higher rate of grant should appropriately be paid.
