Vol. 368 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Motorway.

53.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that the proposal for the Western Parkway Motorway can proceed without the council's proposed link off this motorway into Tree Park Road, Kilnamanagh, having regard to the absolute opposition of the residents of the Kilnamanagh Estate, Tallaght, County Dublin, to this link route.

The motorway scheme in this case which was made by the local authority and approved by me on the 27 May 1986 provides for access to the motorway from Tree Park Road.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a statement regarding the proposal for the Walkinstown Embankment Road proposed by Dublin County Council for County Dublin, indicating if approval has been sought from the Department for this development; and if he will make a statement indicating when it is likely to be approved and the project proceeded with, having regard to the urgent need for this development in the relevant areas of County Dublin.

I assume the Deputy's question relates to a request made recently by Dublin County Council for grant assistance to construct a section of the Walkinstown-Embankment road between the proposed Tallaght Road-Galway Road motorway and the Belgard Road. The request is under consideration in my Department and I will notify the local authority of my decision in the near future.
