Vol. 368 No. 1

Written Answers. - Rosslare Harbour Development.

82.

asked the Minister for Communications when money will be made available for the continuing works at Rosslare Harbour; when it is hoped that the customs shed presently under construction will be completed; when the main terminal building will be commenced; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A State grant of £359,000 is being paid to CIE this year in respect of completion of the customs clearance building and other passenger facilities. I understand that CIE expect to complete the customs clearance building by the end of July 1986. The proposal for a main terminal building is part of an overall development plan for the harbour prepared by CIE. This is at present undergoing financial appraisal by my Department in conjunction with the Department of Finance, in accordance with standard procedures for appraising projects of this nature.
