Vol. 368 No. 1

Written Answers. - Transport to Hospital.

102.

asked the Minister for Health whether, when a form VI has been signed for a patient under the Mental Treatment Act, 1945, it is the responsibility of the local hospital to send an ambulance so that he may be collected for assessment and treatment.

When a form No. 6 has been signed the applicant may convey the patient to the local hospital. While the hospital authority may co-operate in making arrangements for the removal of the patient to hospital, there is no obligation on them to send an ambulance.
