Vol. 368 No. 2

Written Answers. - Maigue (Limerick) Drainage Scheme.

89.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a statement of possible redundancies from the Office of Public Works in County Limerick from early July onwards of those who have been engaged with the Office of Public Works in drainage and maintenance work.

The construction phase of works on the Maigue Arterial Drainage Scheme is expected to end on 4 July 1986. At present there are 120 workers employed on the scheme. Two of these are due to retire on grounds of ill-health, 22 will be offered alternative employment on drainage maintenance works and the remaining 96 will be made redundant with effect from 4 July 1986. There are no proposals for redundancies on Drainage Maintenance Schemes in the Limerick area.
