Vol. 368 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ringsend (Dublin) National School.

267.

asked the Minister for Education if he will give consideration to the appointment of an additional teacher to the Ringsend national school, in Dublin.

To qualify for an additional seventh assistant teaching post, this school would need to secure an average enrolment of 245. The average enrolment at the school in the current school year is considerably below that figure; in fact, it is not sufficient to maintain the post of sixth assistant.

Since the school management has represented special difficulties in the matter of class organisation in the coming school year, the inspector will be asked to visit the school early in September. I will have the situation reviewed as sympathetically as possible when the inspector's report is available.

I have arranged to meet a deputation from the locality to discuss the matter.
