There is no record of the receipt of an appeal in my Department in respect of this house. The carrying out of repairs to a house being purchased by a tenant is a matter for the local authority.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the application of a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a house improvement grant was received; and when a decision on the recent inspection will issue to her.

The application was received on 20 May 1986. The grant has not been approved because the applicant is not prepared to carry out all the works to the fabric of the house considered necessary by my Department's inspector.

A grant of £746 has been approved in this case.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is prepared to sanction a house improvement grant for the installation of windows for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Grants totalling £3,164 have been approved in this case being the maximum grant of £2,000 in respect of an extension and £1,164 in respect of repairs including the replacement of windows.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An inspection under the previous scheme was carried out in this case in August 1984 and grant approval had been withheld pending receipt in my Department of planning permission for the construction of a septic tank. The applicant was given the option to apply for grants under the current scheme but there is no record in my Department of the receipt from him of any fresh application. Should he apply now, an inspection will be arranged to determine his eligibility for grants under the latter scheme.
