Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Income Tax Rebate.

247.

asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be awarded a full tax-free allowance and taken off the emergency tax rate; and when the resultant tax rebate will be issued to him.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a certificate of tax-free allowances for the current year, 1986-87, was issued to the taxpayer on 6 October 1986. Any tax which was over-deducted from his earnings since 23 June 1986, the date of commencement of employment, is refundable to him by his employer when that certificate is put into operation.
