Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Carlow Town Community Care Office.

302.

asked the Minister for Health if his Department has made any decision on the tenders submitted by the South Eastern Health Board for the first phase of the new community care offices in Carlow town; and if the project has yet proceeded to the contract stage.

I have recently approved of the acceptance of tenders for the new community care centre in Carlow. The services which will be provided at this centre include dental services, speech therapy, developmental paediatrics, physiotherapy and ophthalmic services, together with community nursing, welfare and social work services.

It is now a matter for the South Eastern Health Board to make the necessary contractual arrangements for the execution of the work. On the assumption that building work will commence in December of this year, it should be completed towards the end of 1987.
