asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of Government expenditure since October 1982, on hospitals in Limerick city and county; and the further plans and expenditure he has in mind for these hospitals.
Written Answers. - Expenditure on Limerick City and County Hospitals.
The expenditure on hospitals in Limerick city and county, which has been financed by capital grants from my Department in the period from October 1982 to date is as follows:
Hospital |
Capital Expenditure from October, 1982 to date |
£000 |
|
Limerick Regional |
549 |
St Nessan's Orthopaedic, Croom |
673 |
St Joseph's, Psychiatric |
748 |
St Senan's, Psychiatric |
82 |
Barringtons |
43 |
St John's |
659 |
The question of further developments at these hospitals is a matter for the relevant health agencies in the first instance. The financial implications of any such developments would have to be considered in the context of the capital funds that will be available in the years ahead and the capital commitments and other requests for capital funding which will be on hands at the time.
