Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Proposed Extension at Temple Street (Dublin) Hospital.

308.

asked the Minister for Health when it is intended to commence work on the proposed new children's casualty and out-patients' department at Temple Street Hospital, Dublin; the stage this project has reached; and when it is expected to go to tender.

The present stage of planning of improvement works at Temple Street Hospital is that a development control plan has been prepared for the entire development and is at present being considered in my Department. When this stage has been completed it will be possible to proceed with detailed planning of selected phases of the development. It is intended that the casualty and out-patients departments will be dealt with as the first phase.

The timing of the remaining stages of planning the casualty and out-patients departments is being considered in the context of the capital funding implications of this project and of the other projects that are included in the health capital programme. I cannot at this stage say when the project will reach the point when tenders can be invited.
