Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Estates Division.

394.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the outstanding Land Commission Estates will be allocated to applicants; if he will ensure that the necessary staff are provided to do this or that the estates will be put up for tender; if he agrees that if these estates are not allocated by the spring of this year due to con-acre arrangements, it will be a further year before they will be distributed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is not yet possible to say when all of the land in the possession of the Land Commission can be disposed of. Every effort is being made to do this as quickly as possible but the programme is affected by the transfer of the bulk of the field staff to the farm classification office.
