The following table shows the range of rates (to the nearest ECU) of compensatory allowances payable in all EC member states with the exception of Spain and Portugal for which rates are not yet available from the Commission. The rates vary in most member states according to the degree of handicap, the region, the type of farming and the numbers and categories of livestock. For Ireland, the rates shown do not include any increases arising from the special EC package now being finalised.
