Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Leitrim Industries.

51.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that serious job losses in industrial employment have taken place in Mohill, Manorhamilton and Drumshanbo, County Leitrim; and if the IDA have any plans to re-establish new industries in those towns.

Limerick East): I am aware that job losses have taken place in the towns in question but I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that total employment in manufacturing industry in the three towns actually increased in 1985 over the previous year. The IDA, in co-operation with the receiver, is seeking to find a replacement industry for the RPL Plastics plant at Mohill and is also actively promoting Drumshanbo and Manorhamilton for suitable industrial projects.
