Written Answers. - Community Project Grants.

100.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in relation to grants relating to community projects only, inclusive of sporting organisations; the number of grants which have been approved for the new constituency of Dublin South-Central in accordance with the latest legislation revising the constituency; to whom these grants have been approved and the amounts of each; the number of the grants which have been paid as of this date; if he will list each of these grants which have been so far paid to the relevant organisations; if he will also include in this list the grants approved by Dublin Corporation, and which are to be paid by his Department; the amounts of grants which have been approved by him for community projects in: (a) the rest of Dublin, and (b) the rest of the country; and the number of local authority grants which have been approved elsewhere which have also been taken up by him, on the part of his Department to pay the local authorities for the works to be carried out.

Under my Department's scheme of assistance towards the provision of community, leisure and amenity facilities, grants totalling £328,000 in respect of 12 projects have been allocated in the constituency of Dublin South-Central. Grants totalling £2,639,000 and £1,400,000 have been allocated towards the cost of projects in the remainder of Dublin city and county and the rest of the country, respectively.

Details of the allocation in the Dublin South-Central constituency are as follows:

Grants for community, leisure and amenity facilities which are approved by local authorities outside this scheme are not recoupable by my Department.
