asked the Minister for Education if he will make the necessary finance available immediately for the building of an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The bills of quantity for the project are currently under examination in the Department. This invitation of tenders will not arise for consideration until it is confirmed that these documents are satisfactory. At this stage, the specific allocation of funds does not arise nor would it be possible to say when work will be commenced on site.

Examination of the working drawings for this project is nearing completion. County Galway VEC will be advised shortly regarding the preparation of bills of quantities. It is not possible to say when any project will be released to tender or work commenced on site until all stages of planning have been completed. The specific allocation of finance does not arise for a project until a final tender report has been approved.

This project has gone to tender and my Department awaits the submission of a satisfactory final tender report. It is not possible at this stage to say when work will be commenced on site. The specific allocation of finance does not arise for a project until a final tender report has been approved.
